Ipswich Hospital Band is delighted to have moved into its new home at St Peter’s by the Waterfront. The project has been funded with grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Ipswich Borough Council and Ipswich Historic Churches Trust, together with the Band’s own fundraising efforts
The Band performs at major concerts, fetes, carnivals and music festivals, raising thousands of pounds for health related charities. There are over 50 members in the main band, together with smaller groups who perform independently and a thriving training system.
The conversion in the church has been done to cause minimum disturbance to the fabric of the building and original features have been retained. A beautiful oak tiered stage has been installed and the 205 seat auditorium is equipped with underfloor heating and lacquered brass lighting, with sound and light systems to support stage presentations. A heritage display gives background to the church and the area. Volunteers will be opening the church during the day.
If you would like further details on booking the venue or the band, please contact the Centre Manager, Bernard Westren on 01473 225269 or 07717 398296 or visit our website www.stpetersbythewaterfront.com
