Cheque Presentation to EAAA
During December, members of all 3 bands (Ipswich Hospital Band, St Peters Band and the new Saints Community Band) braved the cold weather to brighten the days for others. Our charity this year was East Anglian Air Ambulance.
All money raised during the carol sessions is split (50/50) between the chosen charity for the year and the band.
The bands raised a whopping £5,846.30 (£2,923.15 each)
Well done everyone
In December the Ipswich Hospital Band and St Peter’s Band spent many hours braving the cold and rain performing Christmas Carols at venues in and around Ipswich. This year the Band collected the record sum of £7246.76.
The Band played outside Debenhams in Ipswich Town Centre, at Sainsbury’s at Warren Heath, Waitrose in Futura Park and Wyevale Garden Centre in Woodbridge
The money raised is being shared equally between the Ipswich Hospital Band and the East Suffolk Branch of Heartbeat, a charity set up in 1987 to provide support and information to those in the region who have heart problems. On Tuesday 19th January the Band presented a cheque for £3623.38 to members of the Heartbeat Charity. This was very gratefully received and will go towards various projects being run by Heartbeat to promote the welfare and care of cardiac patients.
The bands and members of Heartbeat would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to our carolling collections this Christmas.
