The members of the bands are very musically active, and have also formed ensembles which play out in public at various events, from fêtes and weddings to churches and army officer mess nights.
There are currently three ensembles; Wind, Brass and Saxophone.
Booking the ensembles
The Ipswich Hospital Band and St Peter’s Band mainly accepts bookings for concerts in aid of health-related charities and other similar worthy causes. The ensembles carry out various events in December for example at retirement homes and private functions.
A nominal fee is charged to help cover expenses. Ensembles of approximately six to twelve players can also be provided to perform fanfares for ceremonial occasions, music for church services, or social events. Bookings for smaller events such as weddings and dinners are also accepted.
